I am also partial to the Ella Fitzgerald version from Ella Wishes You a Swingin’ Christmas, including the throwaway line “I’m just crazy ’bout horses!” at the end.

I thought I was the only one who liked him some Buble! My favorites are “Holly Jolly Christmas” (only Buble can pull off the ‘oh by gosh, by golly’ line) and ‘Baby Please Come Home’…..Merry Christmas:)

Hi Gwen – So sorry to hear about your mom’s change of address – your description of the farm and the grave site is touching – Mark (your cousin) & I visited the farm and the churchyard many years ago before our son Jonathan was born. Mark ran across your mom’s obituary when Jonathan was asking researh questions about his family migrations for a high school assignment. Mark and I are both very sad. Your mom came out to visit us a while back and we had a wonderful time together and always meant to keep in touch more and failed. She was a bright light and as your friend said a beacon. I am glad the farm is in loving hands – Mark has always had a soft spot for it in his heart – he always mentions taking home milk bottles of the spring water when his family visited way back when. Thanks for the blog and the chance to get in touch if once removed and a little late.
